Hartford Lions Youth Soccer Program

Our organization aims at leveling the playing field for all regardless of race, gender, religion, or socio-economic status at a feasible rate. Our program serves families who have children between the ages of 3 - 14. Ages 3-5 are considered part of the Junior Lions Program, ages 6-9  fall under the Lion's Cub program, and athletes ages 10 - 14 are known as the Lions Program. Each age group clinic session lasts 6 weeks.

The Junior Lions Program is focused on dribbling, passing, trapping, scoring and balance as well as the concepts of teamwork and cooperation. Throughout the process junior lions will be introduced to the ideas of sportsmanship and team play.

The Lions Cub program focuses on the development of our young soccer players. This program consists of 6 classes focusing on each of the following skills: dribbling, passing, and shooting. The skills taught in the Lions Cub Clinics are instrumental in the proper development of young soccer players. Players in this program will be taught the skills needed to be successful at the next level.

Lions Program focuses on fine tuning skills, while developing attacking and defensive principles. The Lions program is where Technical movements and skills are mastered. An important aspect of this level is character building(winning mentality & life skills). Players in this program will be taught the skills needed to reach their full potential as a player.

Lioness League Program

Our Lioness League is for adult women ages 18 and older, and is the first all-women’s league in Hartford County. The league starts in the Summer and finishes in early Fall.

Games will typically be on either Saturday or Sunday evenings (3pm and 6pm) with the scores and stats being recorded in order to hold playoffs, and an eventual championship.

In conclusion to the championship games, there are a selection of players that represent the league in several All-Star showcase games. These games provide athletes further exposure and a chance to display their skills in front of not only collegiate coaches, but semi & professional scouts as well.

The league accepts individual and team registrations. Individuals are placed on teams by the League Board members. Placements are not guaranteed and depend on the number of requesting players and roster spaces available.
